Summer Selling Exhibition
Saturday 23rd July – Saturday 6th August 2022
I hope very much that you will be able to join me at my Summer Selling Exhibition which is a bit later than usual as I have been finalising the sale of my building. I am delighted to say that I have taken an initial two year lease on the ground floor which means I can carry on dealing here in Yoxford.
I have about eighty examples of early furniture and works of art put away for the exhibition. Most of the furniture is on the small side and chosen for its colour and patination and one of the rarest pieces is a small James I chest which has its original block printed lining paper showing the Royal Arms within the Garter. Also very small is an early 18th century Snowdonia dresser with stunning colour. There are four small chests of drawers, four panelled cupboards, including the narrowest full length corner cupboard I have ever seen, a lovely little oak kneehole desk and three early mirrors. In addition, there is a good array of armchairs including a wonderfully comfortable George I upholstered wing chair, a good oak lambing chair and a large 18th century yew wood Windsor armchair. Small tables include a Welsh tavern table with stunning colour, a very rare William and Mary oak coaching table and a George II fruitwood candlestand.
The works of art include a 15th century misericord, two 15thcentury oak roof angels, a beautiful Malines St. Anne group and some early carved panels. There are two large English delft bowls, a 16th century Italian syrup jar, some good 18th century wine bottles and a charming portrait of a boy with a cricket bat.
Most of the items can be seen on my website under Exhibitions – “Summer Selling Exhibition 2022” click here to view. A glass or two of wine will be on offer over the opening weekend of the exhibition and I hope to see you then. In the meantime, if you would like any further information, please contact me by phone or email.
