By kind permission of the Grant Family
Regional Ambassador Darrell Buttery has kindly secured a private visit to Stockeld Park which is not open to the general public.
The house that we see today was built in 1757, when the present owner William de Middleton commissioned the Palladian architect James Paine to build this magnificent stone mansion.
The house in now Grade-1 listed and features a fine collection of 18th and 19th-century furniture, works of art and a cantilevered staircase.
