York Mansion House was begun in 1725 and thus was the first of its kind in the country.
It retains all of its original features and has a splendid collection of civic portraits and silver.
We will have exclusive use of the Mansion House for our visit.
Lunch will be served in the fine dining room, the catering as before by Bradshaws of York.
After lunch there will be time to see the magnificent state room with its important collection of full-length portraits, with examples by Highmore, Reynolds and Hoppner.
We finish in time for those who wish to attend evensong in York Minster at four, or to enjoy the ancient streets as the city prepares for Christmas.
