Between The Sheets: Turner's Nudes at Turner's House.
A private tour of the house and introduction to the exhibition.
Wednesday 26th October at 2pm followed by tea at Zoran’s Deli
Some Friends might remember when we visited Turner’s House some time ago before it was restored. The restoration has now been completed and we visit to see the house and the exhibition.
Built by 1813, the house was a quiet retreat for Turner away from the pressures London life. Many will know of JMW Turner’s landscapes and seascapes but may not be aware of his nudes.
During his lifetime Turner made numerous sketches of the naked female form, which provide invaluable insight into the man and his attitude to and relationship with women.
