About
Walker Galleries Ltd
Walker Galleries is a family-run art business, first established in 1972 in the delightful spa town of Harrogate, Yorkshire. Over the years the gallery has developed an international presence and client base.
Walker Galleries has an extensive selection of 19th and 20th century English and European paintings and watercolours, representing probably the largest stock in the North of England.
Particular strengths are Parisian street scenes and paintings from the Belle Époque period.
The stock displays a wide range of subject matter, including landscape, marine, sporting, figurative, topographical and still-life.
Ian Walker
The gallery’s principal director, Ian Walker, has more than 35 years’ experience in the business.
He has served on the Council of the British Antique Dealers' Association and is a past Chairman of both the Association and of the BADA Fair.
He has also served on the vetting committees of most major British antiques fairs. Ian is assisted in the gallery by associate director, Kevin McSwiggan.
The gallery holds regular exhibitions and also exhibits at Britain’s major antiques and fine art fairs, including at Masterpiece London, the BADA Fair, the Olympia fairs and the Harrogate Antique Fair.
