About
Sylvia Powell Decorative Arts
Sylvia Powell Decorative Arts was established more than 25 years ago by Sylvia and her late husband David.
A consultant structural engineer, David took early retirement, and together he and Sylvia began the journey that would transform their lives.
Known for its rare and perfect Art Pottery, the business specializes in the best examples of works by Picasso, Jean Cocteau, William De Morgan, Wedgwood Fairyland, Martin Brothers, Moorcroft and Jean Lurcat, to name just a few.
Important Sales
Their passion for the art form has built them a loyal, worldwide client base.
The company has built up private collections, sold to many museums worldwide and has clients from the UK, USA, Australia, Japan, South Africa and Europe.
David passed away in 2002, and Sylvia’s son Marc then joined her in continuing and expanding the business.
Fairs and Awards
Today they exhibit at nine or ten major fairs annually in the UK and USA where, as well as selling wonderful art pottery, they give talks and pass on their knowledge about every piece to customers and visitors alike.
The business has twice been a recipient of a BADA Best Stand Award at the Fine Art & Antiques Fair, Olympia.
Sylvia and Marc acquire and sell the best and rarest examples of specialist manufacturers of art pottery, and they are happy to source items for clients.
