Paul Mitchell is one of the second generation of the Mitchell family of fine art dealers, founded by his father John Mitchell in 1930, whose Bond Street gallery is run by Paul’s nephews James and William.

From an extensive inventory of antique European frames for paintings, drawings and prints, the company supplies dealers, art agents, auctioneers, museums and private collectors worldwide with expertly-researched framing proposals by means of printed or emailed photomontages.
These are supported by a broad knowledge of frames drawn from their unique photographic archive and library.
Paul Mitchell aims to optimise the presentation of a painting by judicious frame selection. The company’s extensive inventory from the 15th to the 20th century comprises Italian, Spanish, French, British and North European frames. Together with past records, these provide clients with a wide selection from which they can choose an original or commission a high quality handmade replica frame, made by master craftsmen.
Paul Mitchell Ltd provides condition appraisals and estimates for picture conservation at their studios, in situ, or prior to anticipated purchase.
