About

Maggs Bros

Maggs Bros Ltd has been dealing in rare books and manuscripts since 1853.

They are based in a fine Georgian townhouse in London’s Berkeley Square, and from there run an international business, travelling frequently throughout the world to buy, to sell and to advise.

Established in 1853, Maggs Bros. Ltd. is one of the world’s largest antiquarian booksellers. They are serious about books without being stuffy, proud of their traditions and history, but continually looking to the future.

They have a staff of over twenty, organised into seven largely autonomous departments, providing a range of in-house expertise.

They travel widely and exhibit at the principal international antiquarian book fairs, and can correspond in many languages, including French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and Mandarin.

Although delighted to sell individual items to new customers, they find customers receive their best service when building and sustaining long-term relationships with them.

They handle books and manuscripts of a high quality, and act as advisors and booksellers to many fine collections, both private and institutional. They also stock books over a wide price range.

Maggs Bros also offers a specialist service for shipping rare books safely around the world. For further information on goods and services, visit the company website.
