About

London Medal Company

London Medal Company was born out of Chelsea Military Antiques which was formed by Managing Director and owner, Richard Black and his then business partner Dominic Abbott in 1997.

The business operated from the world famous Antiquarious Antique Centre on London's King's Road and specialised in world orders, decorations and medals, together with nineteenth and twentieth century military antiques.

Dominic Abbot left to start a new venture in 2003 and John Peters, formerly of Empire Medals, joined the business.

Medal specialist, Roan Hackney, joined in 2005 and oversaw the creation of our now highly regarded website. From this point on, medals became very much the core of the business.

Following the closure of Antiquarious in 2009 we moved to Whitcombe Street, just off Trafalgar Square, becoming The London Medal Company. Five years later we moved to our current location in London's famous Cecil Court. Our shop is full of appealing Military Antiques and Medals.

As one of the leading dealers of British Orders, Decorations & Medals in the world, we regularly assist museums and institutions in medal acquisitions and act for numerous private collectors, both buyers and sellers.

Richard Black has been a member of The Orders and Medals Research Society for over 25 years and is also a member of the Orders and Medals Society of America.
