In 2008 J & A Beare received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade; in 2010 the company was appointed honorary advisory of the Royal Society of Musicians. For over 110 years Beare’s has been running a bow prize programme with the Royal Academy of Music, and  since 2011, the Beare’s International Violin Society has facilitated the long-term loan of fine instruments to over 200 musicians.
