About
Elaine Phillips Antiques
Elaine Phillips Antiques specialise in 17th and 18th century oak furniture and associated decorative items – metalware, English Delft pottery, needlework, treen and tapestries.
Elaine Phillips established the business in the 1960’s.
She was a founder member of the National Association of Decorative Fine Arts Society in Harrogate, and also listed in Debrett’s People of Today.
A Family Business
Elaine Phillips was joined in the business by her husband, Colin, in 1970 and later her daughter, Louise, in 1985.
The business continues to be run by Louise Phillips, who is the current Chairman of the British Antique Dealers' Association, and also chairs the Association’s PR and Marketing Committee.
The main emphasis of their stock is on quality, condition, good colour and patination of pieces.
Premises
After 40 years at their premises in Harrogate, the business has now moved to new showrooms near Leyburn, in North Yorkshire.
The current showrooms, on two floors, are laid out in room settings.
This enables clients to see how items may look in their own homes, and forms part of the interior design service that Louise Phillips offers.
