BADA certification

The BADA customs certification service is not a valuation or assessment service but is designed to assist in obtaining reduced-duty entry at ports across the globe.

Antiques exported to some countries may gain duty-free or reduced-duty entry if accompanied by a special pre-printed BADA certificate of antiquity, approved by the relevant authorities in the country concerned.

Regional variations

Some countries require an official BADA letter to be issued, certifying  the items listed on the exporter's schedule as antique.

In other countries these letters can be issued to merely assist with the customs procedures at the port of entry.

In all cases BADA's assessors will need to have sight of the actual goods concerned, prior to shipping.

Full details of the certification requirements of overseas customs services can be found at Import & Export of Antiques.
