The Friends of the BADA Trust are delighted to announce their events schedule for the Autumn season, the highlight of which is an exclusive private guided tour of Kate Malone’s current exhibition ‘Inspired by Waddesdon’ in the company of Kate herself.

A star of BBC 2’s ‘The Great Pottery Throw Down’, Kate Malone is one of Britain’s leading ceramicists and has seen her work exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the UK, USA and Europe.

The ‘Inspired by Waddesdon’ exhibition showcases 40 new pieces by Kate, all inspired by the natural forms and complex shapes on display in the private Eythrope gardens on the Waddesdon estate, created by Alice de Rothschild in the late 19th century.

In addition to the guided tour by Kate Malone, the event on Thursday 29 September will give visitors the opportunity to explore the gardens at Eythrope with Head Gardener Suzie Hanson.

Other highlights of the Friends event calendar include A Private Tour of the Harold Samuel Collection at the Mansion House and a guide to Shakespeare’s London with city guide Tony Tucker.

Art dealer Jeremy Green will be hosting a private view on JMW Turner and his development as a Watercolour Artist at Tate Britain, and Ashley Gray, Director of Gray M.C.A., will present a talk on the Post War Textile Visionaries of Modern Art.

The Friends Autumn programme will also see the launch of our new “An Introduction to” series which showcases BADA members’ expertise to collectors and lovers of fine art and antiques.

The series opens in September with a masterclass on 20th century maps with Tim Bryars of Bryars & Bryars and continues in November with a guide to Chinese Export Silver from specialist Stephen Stodel of S & J Stodel.
