BADA would like to thank everyone that joined us for Thursday’s inaugural #BADATalks seminar on Temporary Admissions, held at the Royal Geographical Society, Kensington.

The event, which was attended by 100 BADA and SLAD members, provided a platform to outline the benefits to Dealers in using the Temporary Admissions and Customs Warehouse Schemes, as well as explaining recent changes to the Union Customs Code and how they will impact the art and antiques community.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to put their TA questions direct to HMRC representatives Lynne Goodwin and Jenny Wicker, prompting a lively debate with many dealers receiving valuable advice on how to resolve their individual issues.

As a dealer well versed in working with TA and the Descartes system, Serena Ede of Charles Ede Ltd offered valuable insights into the dealers’ experience of Temporary Admissions.

Fellow speaker Howard Marsh of Descartes Systems provided a welcome guide to HMRC’s online reporting system CHIEF, and solutions on how online reporting can simplify TA processing.

A comprehensive slideshow of the presentations from the TA Seminar can be downloaded below. Click the Download Attachment link on the bottom right hand side of this article.

BADA will also be distributing follow-up notes and announcing practical Temporary Admissions workshops, shortly.

Our next #BADATalks event will be a seminar on How to Engage with the Art Trade Press, in partnership with Apollo Magazine.

The event will be held at The Caledonian Club, Belgravia on Thursday 29 September, tickets can be booked here
