BADA Members set for London Map Fair

The London Map Fair returns for its 36th year this weekend June 4-5, bringing together 40 of the leading national and international antiquarian map dealers, including BADA members Bryars & Bryars, Jonathan Potter Ltd, Daniel Crouch Rare Books and The Map House.

First established in 1980, the London Map Fair takes place at the historic Royal Geographical Society and will feature a large range of Original Antique Maps for sale, ranging from the 15th to the 20th Century, covering all parts of the world.

Highlights on display from BADA members include J.Neele Fraser’s Panoramic Plan of London, an attractive and detailed map of late-Georgian London extending from Hyde and Regents Park to Islington, Rotherhithe and Vauxhall, exhibited by Jonathan Potter Ltd.

A first and only edition of Edward Stanford Ltd’s London Underground: Central Area Stations and Surrounding Streets, a colour coded guide to the local area around London’s central underground stations, exhibited by Bryars & Bryars.

And a 1675 first edition of the First Road Atlas Ogilby, John Britannia, which was the first national road-atlas of any country and a landmark in the mapping of England and Wales.

London Map Fair opens from 12pm – 7pm Saturday 4 June, and from 10am – 6pm Sunday 5 June at the Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR. Admission to the event is Free
