Edenbridge Galleries Annual Spring Open Weekend takes place this weekend and this year’s event is a celebration of the History of Tea – 300 years of Tea in Britain.

The event, which takes place this Saturday 7 May – Sunday 8 May will see the BADA specialists at Edenbridge exhibiting antique items connected with the long and fascinating history of tea in the UK, from the late 17th century, through to the 20th Century.

From caddy spoons to tea caddies, tea tables to teapots and even paintings depicting scenes of taking tea, there will be much to enjoy including a presentation on the History of Tea by local tea merchants Blends for Friends, at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample Edenbridge Galleries very own blend of tea, produced by Blends for Friends, as the Galleries have transformed one of their own showrooms into an 18th Century tea room providing traditional cream teas.

The Gallery is open at the following times:

Saturday 7 May 10am – 6pm

Sunday 8 May    10am – 5pm
