About English Porcelain Ltd - Roderick Jellicoe

Our company ‘English Porcelain’ has been trading online for 16 years and its founder and Managing Director, Rod Jellicoe, has been a dealer in 18th century English ceramics for over 35 years. From 1991 to 2005, the business was based in Kensington, London.

During this period, several important exhibitions were held, including in 1998, ‘Isleworth Porcelain’ which was accompanied by a ground-breaking catalogue co-authored with Anton Gabszewicz.

In 2000, another seminal exhibition of ‘The Liverpool Porcelain of William Reid’, assembled and classified in collaboration with Maurice Hillis, was on show in London and the following year selected pieces were displayed in New York. Both of these catalogues are now regarded as essential reference works.

Rod Jellicoe presently deals by appointment, or via the website www.englishporcelain.com and is available to advise clients on forming and building private collections. He is also in demand as a lecturer and consultant to museums in Britain, America and Canada. His recent research has thrown light on the incidence of English porcelain imported to America, as well as homegrown manufactories such as John Bartlam’s in South Carolina.

He is a member of the British Antique Dealers’ Association, the English Ceramics Circle, and the Northern Ceramic Society. He is a Board member of the American Ceramic Circle. In 2001, he won the BACA award for the Specialist Dealer in Ceramics in the UK.

Elected to BADA membership for 18th-century English porcelain.
